MDUMC was founded on July 13, 1958, in Chapman's corner restaurant on the west edge of Houston, Texas. Since that time Memorial Drive UMC has grown to be a leading church in Houston and in all of Methodism. Dr. Chuck Simmons is the senior pastor. MDUMC has a long tradition of supporting its youth and that has enabled the program of youth ministry to thrive and reach out to youth over the years.
