Scripture Reading
Meanwhile, the ministry of God's Word grew by leaps and bounds.
- Mark 16:6

Thought of the Day
The Reverend William Sloan Coffin was a pastor, a peace activist, a CIA agent, an accomplished pianist, and a former chaplain at Yale University. I was reading some of his sermons and writings and found these words about faith and life. I like them so here they are.

It is terribly important to realize that the leap of faith is not so much a leap of thought as of action. For while in many matters it is first we must see, then we will act; in maters of faith it is first we must do then we will know, first we will be and them we will see. One must, in shorts dare to act wholeheartedly without absolute certainty...I love the recklessness of faith. First you leap, and then you grow wings.

So when was the last time that you really took a leap of faith? I am afraid that most of the time our leaps turn out into little steps of faith. Now that is OK, steps of faith are good, but every so often God places situations before us that are golden opportunities. Some of them require leaps. Remember that you are not alone when you leap. Also always remember Dr. Coffin's words.

First you leap, and then you grow wings.

Prayer
Amazing Lord, let me jump when You say jump. Amen.
